Blog Post Title One

“I am totally blind and have moderate hearing loss.  If it wasn't for the Beyond SSP program, life would be very different.  Filling out forms, going to stores, going for walks, are just some of the things that are no longer an issue because of the program that is available to me.  It is wonderful to be in charge of decisions made in my own life, allowing me to function on a daily basis.  This program gives me the confidence to participate in the community groups that have interested me, that I would never do if it wasn't for the wonderful SSP's working with me.  I am not one to have everything done for me and I feel this program allows me to be in control.”

Stephanie Birkhead

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

“I have been using the service for a few years now, and I cannot say enough good things about it.  Yes, there have been major changes to the program over the last few years, but I was then and still very much willing to work with those changes.  Beyond has gone the extra mile to ease the financial burden of the transportation change.  Through this pandemic, I still found things that I needed help with here at home, whether it was reading material, doing work on the computer, my devices, etc.  So I was able to use my allowed time that I had available to me, and I would not have accomplished the things that I did, otherwise.  I will close with saying this: anyone that is eligible for the service should use it.  They have no idea what they are missing out on. “

“Being the decision-maker in the Missouri SSP program gives me control throughout the process from deciding what is in the contract with each SSP to planning the details of an outing. With initial training from Beyond Interpreting, monthly newsletters, and access to program educators as needed; I can schedule an Uber paid for with the Beyond business account, communicate with the driver, arrive at the correct location, receive environmental information, and communicate with others while shopping, at an appointment or social gathering which allows me to lead a more independent, fulfilling life.”
