Learn what it’s like to work with Beyond Interpreting

“The talented and committed interpreters that make up Beyond Interpreting move mountains for those who are Deaf/Blind. They do not take "no" for an answer. Barriers they encounter are turned into stepping stones. I can say with confidence that the state of Missouri is blessed beyond all measure for the presence of the incredible team of Beyond Interpreting.”

— JC Dollar, Greater Kansas City DeafBlind Task Force

“Beyond Interpreting lives up to its name. Their client and interpreting services are simply outstanding and go above and beyond every time. I worked with Michelle and our first experience together was the KC Chiefs Super Bowl celebration. She was awesome and stood outside in the freezing cold to provide interpreting services. She’s also “on-call” for the City to provide interpreting for press conferences for the Mayor and other high-level officials regarding COVID and other important events in our City. In addition to being a top-notch interpreter, her willingness to help and put others first, positive attitude, and giving spirit makes her, and Beyond Interpreting a company that goes above and beyond with its outstanding and caring service.”

— Meg Conger, City of Kansas City ADA Coordinator

“I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with Beyond Interpreting since its beginning!  The staff is consistently helpful and knowledgeable.  They always use careful time and attention in selecting the most qualified interpreters for the job and/or the participant.  I feel that they go above and beyond to support and advocate for all interpreters whenever necessary, e.i., gathering appropriate job details, educating, providing resources.  It is a privilege to work with such a professional and friendly agency!”

— Calla Lovell, Community Interpreter

“I want to express gratitude and praise to KCMO Mayor, Council Members and KCFD, Chiefs for setting up an in-person certified sign language interpreter through Beyond Interpreting during the news press conference on KCTV5 News. I am looking forward to the KCMO Government using ASL interpreters for effective communication for KCMO Citizens / Residents who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.”

— Clark H. Corogenes, The Whole Person Deaf Services

“Police often have to disseminate important public safety information with little notice, and Michelle is available whenever we need her. She also has been a welcome presence at our happier events, like an outdoor award ceremony, making it accessible to everyone. She is always in a good mood and very professional, and we look forward to having her interpret for many future news briefings and events.”

"I started working at Beyond through my internship. Not only did I get the chance to learn from some of the most experienced and skilled interpreters, but I got to work alongside some of the best mentors a young interpreter could ask for. Beyond truly cares about making sure you develop as a professional interpreter. I always felt supported and appreciated while working under their mentors. Doing my internship there gave me the confidence I needed to be able to go off and interpret on my own. Now I am currently working as one of Beyond’s freelancers and I couldn’t be happier. They are an amazing company and treat their interpreters very well! As a young interpreter it is easy to be misled and/or misguided in the field, but Beyond Interpreting has never done this. They make sure I am comfortable with any job they give me and if I am having a problem, they are always willing to work with me to fix it. I truly couldn’t have picked a better company to learn from and work for. They have become somewhat of a family for me in the professional interpreting world and I wouldn’t have it any other way!"

As someone who is CODA, it was super important for me to have a good interpreter for my mom at my wedding. From the first time I reached out to Beyond Interpreting just to find out information, they were incredibly helpful and very straightforward with how the pricing worked, which was hard to find with some of the other companies I contacted beforehand. Anytime I had a question I would get an immediate response unless they were out of the office on the weekend. I had Kendra interpreting for my wedding this past Friday, and while I didn't get the chance to talk with her very much my mom absolutely loved her. I would 100% recommend going through Beyond Interpreting if you need an interpreter, and I will absolutely go through them in the future!

“Doing my mentorship with Beyond was a great experience. They were supportive, encouraging and provided me with a vast array of interpreting settings to help me develop my skills. They were always available to answer questions and provide me with useful resources.”

— Shana Enns, Community Interpreter, Spring Mentorship 2019

“Throughout my mentorship with Beyond, I have gained new confidence in my own abilities. This was achieved through the amazing encouragement, support and investment received from the interpreters I have worked beside. I now truly believe I can become a professional interpreter, and will forever cherish the amazing opportunities provided to me through your program.”

— Kristine Chase, Spring Mentorship 2019
